Joseph Ntensibe has spent much time as an artist to depict the ugandan forest which is changing dramatically due to rampant deforestation caused by mining, war, drought, urbanization, and a lack of awareness about the value of forests. In the past twenty years, Uganda has lost over almost 30% of the country’s total land to deforestation. Ntensibe uses his talent as a consummate painter, to attempt to represent the forest as in synaesthesia, using light, colour, composition, and the rhythm of the brush stroke to express the colours, rhythm, noise, smell of the forest.
